Living in New York is exciting, challenging, and hardly ever boring. So I decided to share my NYC experiences with you all by writing this blog, starting today. Little did I know what I was getting into. Because last night, my wallet got stolen, providing me with great material for today...
I love these guys! The VLADA Band, feat. The Chops Horns
How I love playing with these guys! Last night’s gig at the Bitter End was arguably one of the most energetic, dynamic, and joy-filled concerts we have given in NYC. The legendary Chops Horns definitely added their unique "flava" to make it a memorable night where I said goodbye for various reasons...

Another fabulous concert at The Bitter End in NYC last night, so much fun with this crazy-good band! As a special guest, we had backing vocalist Mirjam Merz from Switzerland, who is part of my original Swiss band and who happened to be in New York that week. Brilliant! It didn’t start too well, though:
Ok, I admit it: For many years it’s been a dream of mine to play at Kaufleuten Zurich, one of the most prestigious music clubs in Europe. Last night, that dream came true. Of course, it was a fabulous experience to play there, as it is one of my most favourite venues ever. But it’s been challenging, too.
I got back to Switzerland the other day, and it’s been crazy ever since: I had a rehearsal with my Swiss band the same day that I flew in from New York, and then another three rehearsals the following days. Last night we had our first concert at Mühle Hunziken, a highly renowned and wild place where all the soul-funk-jazz greats have played before.

Yet again, we had a blast at the Bitter End in NYC last night. I mean, how could you not, with a 13-piece band on stage... We performed the brandnew songs Trust Me and Outstretched Hand, which were received very well! I’m off to Switzerland next week, but I can’t wait to be back here. I love these guys.
This is where I’ve been writing new songs in New York...
I know this is gonna make some people jealous... But by God’s grace alone, this is where I’ve been staying in Manhattan and where I’ve been working on some new songs. Definitely inspiring. The new songs better be good...
featuring Take 6, Kirk Whalum, Vinnie Colaiuta, Abraham Laboriel, Paul Jackson Jr. and more!

After three eventful months in Europe, with gigs/trips to England, Serbia, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland, I got back to New York City last week and I’m loving it. Last night, we had a fabulous gig as a 12-piece band at the renowned Bitter End and we sure had a blast - again!
